Everyone walks around in a big circle. When someone wander’s from the circle, those still in the circle call them lost. The circle is human habit, sometimes confused with human nature. The circle creates a sort of conformity and order. However, people in the circle sometimes see others and laugh that they are ahead, or fret that they are behind. In reality everyone’s just going in the same circle, there is no ahead or behind. Those who spend all their time in the circle are afraid of ever leaving it and fear those who have. I sometimes wander out and walk in a straight line instead of in a circle. The others look at me very strangely, and whisper things to one another about me. I always come back of course, don’t ask me why. And when I return I have a better understanding of life without the circle and the small ignorance of a mind trapped within it. The real problem is when people go in the circle they deceive themselves into thinking that they are evolving. In a manner of speaking they are. But, if they progress, which is to say evolve forward and not circularly, they are just progressing because the circle has to expand to fit the ever rising population inward. Those toward the middle of the circle have no clue there is anything outside of it, and since they go in the circle the fastest, they are very happy with they’re existence and never realize how boring it is. Those on the outside sometimes let their minds wander outside the circle and eventually leave it, some never return. I began in the center, and for some reason, I always return. Sometimes I wonder outside the circle longer than others; Nonetheless, I feel an impulse to return when I begin to see how dangerous things are outside the circle. The larger the circle gets, the more people see what’s outside, and how to live without being in the circle. The problem is, of course, the people in the very center can communicate more readily, and orderly, than those on the very outskirts of the circle. This is the reason that they have had the advantage of being listened to by the people between the center and the outside for so long, they simply coordinate faster. Eventually though, the sheer number of those on the outside will overwhelm those on the inside. Being the one who wonders, returns, experiences all parts of the circle, and sees everyone in the circle from any angle he chooses, I am the one who knows this and other eternal secrets of the circle; for I have been wondering about this particular circle for a long time now. And ,oh yes, there are other circles – in my time I have even seen polygons!
